Dungeon meshi was a lot of peoples introduction to anime with food as a theme, and it was one of the best anime to air in 2024. As I am writing this I also remembered the anime food wars was at the top list of anime on crunchyroll for a long ass time wow...it had its moment for sure, but having 5 seasons it really fell off for me. Dungeon meshi had such well written and charming characters and it was easy to recommend it to people that dont even watch anime. Dungeon meshi even avoids using a lot of the cliche anime tropes that turn most adults off from watching. After this a bunch more gourmet anime has come out and this genre has become my favourite genre, so when an anime adaption was announced for an anime combining the gourmet genre with yuri you know I had to tune in. Botan Kamiina fully blossoms when drunk really exceeded my expectations with beautiful art with a different art director for each episode keeping it fresh. Lesbian yearning, beautiful art and alcohol...whats not to love? Now I just need to catch up with season 2 of campfire cooking in another world with my absurd skill. Maybe I should give solo camping for two a shot too?
